Surrounded by space only filled with dead air
Nothing stirs in a room now empty and bare
Just echo’s of voices never meant to be heard
Spectres seen through as they float undisturbed
Forgetting for a moment what has always been clear
Words said into darkness never find the right ear
Spoken all the same out of a need for noise
To break the deafening silence and banish stifled cries
Curtains tightly drawn to deflect mirrored night
Reflection unwelcome in mind and in sight
Lids then forced shut in the vain pursuit of sleep
Leaving behind empty spaces were thinking ever creeps
