From the first step the landscapes drift

Morphing to images from a life now missed

Flames from a candle Dance on an unclear face

A laugh now remembered before a warm embrace

People and places become changed before my eyes

To how they once looked in the days now gone by

In no more than seconds I walk through the years

Passing by smiles, celebrations and tears

Rooms holding crowds or just a couple in view

Could be decades from now or relatively new

A long lost love or a friend on to which I hold

Depends on what I pass on this street or that road

When next I walk past the same buildings and signs

Will today be as clear as the past I now find
