Hidden agenda

Eyes wide open an image becomes clear

Of reason and motive behind the decision you hear

Far from the normal expression of wish

Lies darker motive to fashion a rift

What now is done can only ever remain

An unspoken malice for which 2 share the blame

A shallow attempt to paper over the cracks

Of spaces left empty through what a life lacks

With no intervention it should pass unseen

Remain hidden from sight and leave dirty hands clean

No fall out or fuss due to the tricks being played

The hurt where intended is where it shall stay

Creeping in from the cold the same feelings rise

As the days grow short and the year passes by

No cause for celebration or playful good cheer

Despite all the bells and songs you may hear

Not a purposeful wish to be down cast

Nor to relive those Christmases past

Simply a reaction to the time and the trials

Minutes taking hours and steps becoming miles

One day they may change these feeling so ingrained

But that day is not now and that time has come again

A life lived in dreams

A dream that comes and lingers all night

That remains all day always in sight

The smile it brings cannot be compared

To waking moments all of them shared

Though in a world I do not live

It’s a reality I crave and for anything would give

Nothing special just an ordinary day

Fears forgotten with one that would stay

Alas however a dream is not real

Just fleeting wishes that for a time do steal

My heart and my mind together as one

Dreaming a life to which I should run

24 days and still here

Evening all (or maybe just me re-reading).

I was thinking today that I would put something different up for a change. Maybe a political commentary on just why Independence for Scotland is such a shockingly bad idea, my thoughts on the race row currently engulfing football, a review of whatever film I recently saw. The list of possibilities is endless. So what did I decide on I hear you cry……

Well to be honest I don’t know. while I do believe Scottish independence is nothing but a bad joke, President Salmond is one scary thought. Terry gate or the race row in football is an important issue, not just for its implications in football but also the sad truth that it seems we are no more enlightened than the generations gone before us. Prometheus was a poor attempt at what should have been an amazing film, better than the original Alien but nowhere near the same level as Aliens. None of these things strike me as something interesting enough to hold your attention or to be more accurate you are probably sick of hearing about them as (bar my bashing prometheus) they have been all over the news for weeks.

Funny so far I have managed to take 2 (soon to be 3) paragraphs to say very little. If you are still with me well done you and also why? What is it about us that makes reading what other people write about so interesting, even when what they are writing about is nothing. Is reading a blog just another form of reality entertainment, the literal version of Big Brother (god I hope not). Do we get a kick out of reading someone else’s thoughts or having our thoughts read or is it just a bit of fun and as much of a hobby as golf or football?

OK I think that is enough random gibbering for now…………….

Seasons change

As the mornings grow dark and the air stings with cold

The changes all around us point to the year becoming old

A frost clinging to the ground and a fog hanging in the sky

Leaves fading to brown while the summer blooms die

Days losing time to an ever advancing night

Logs being burned and kindling set alight

But the mood in stark contrast is one of brightness and cheer

For all across the globe people love this time of year

From the first flake of snow to the last words of Auld lang syne

There is simply no escaping the joy of Christmas time
